Security and Defense
The Security and Defense Programmatic Sphere at YPFP immerses members in the evolving landscape of global security challenges and strategic policy responses. Through wargaming sessions, scenario planning, expert panels, and collaborations with defense institutions, this sphere examines critical topics such as cybersecurity, great power competition, military strategy, nuclear nonproliferation, and the future of warfare. Events are designed to provide practical insight into both traditional and emerging security threats.
Participants develop a strategic mindset and gain exposure to real-world decision-making frameworks. They enhance their skills in risk analysis, policy design, and strategic communication, positioning themselves to contribute thoughtfully to the defense and security policymaking process across government, academia, and international institutions.
Strategic Leads
These volunteer officers are responsible for the vision and execution of YPFP’s thematic programming. They leverage their specialization in the field to curate high-impact programming, from scenario-based wargaming to exclusive briefings. By bridging the gap between emerging professionals and established policy institutions, our Leads ensure that YPFP remains at the forefront of international affairs discourse. If you or your organization are interested in collaborating on future programming, we invite you to reach out to our team.
