Your Seat at the Table
Foreign policy shouldn't be a closed door. YPFP provides the keys to the room. We empower the next generation of diverse leaders by providing the tools, networks, and platforms necessary to shape global discourse today—not decades from now.

The Alumni Effect
I joined YPFP because I wanted to get more involved in and learn more about the foreign policy world outside of my job. I’ve been a member for 5 years now and the events have always been a highlight - I love meeting smart, interesting young people who have such unique experiences and insights about the world around us, and I’ve made some really great friends.

The big reason I keep coming to the events are the people and the community YPFP has. There is such an interesting group of people with various backgrounds that provide great perspectives to the issues and events that are done. I feel like I learn something new every time. Additionally, I have met some of my closest friends through the club and will always be grateful for the relationships I have been able to build through this group.

Volunteering as an event manager with YPFP provided me with an opportunity to work on a broad range of topics of my interest, beyond what I was able to do at just my day job. During the Foreign Service examination and interview process I cited my experiences with YPFP on multiple occasions in order to demonstrate my passion for working on foreign policy went beyond my 9 to 5 job and how it provided me with an additional skill-set not otherwise found on my resume.

YPFP gave me a voice in global policymaking. Representing the U.S. youth delegation wasn’t just an honor, it was a responsibility. I had a renewed sense of purpose and a global network of changemakers.
