Angela Zhong serves as the Global Economy and Job Creation delegate for the US. She covers TPG Rise, one of the largest impact-focused private equity funds in the world. Her previous experience in multilateral fora includes engagements at the World Bank Spring Meetings, UNGA, SXSW, UN Conference on Trade and Development, and more.
Q: How did you hear about the Y20 Summit and what made you apply to be a delegate? I was fortunate enough to attend the Y20 in 2022 in Jakarta as an award recipient, and I got a sneak peak, joining portions of the programming with the delegates. Ever since then, I've been eager to be part of the US delegation!
Q: How do you want to leverage this opportunity to build your career? I'm very interested in multilateralism and diplomacy, particularly with a climate lens, so this is the perfect opportunity to engage skills that are directly applicable to those spaces. I'm also eager to connect more with the other delegates, who have had such interesting experiences!
Q: What advice would you give to future applicants? Be open to considering how your experiences and skills can apply to multiple tracks. Keeping an open mind about where you can contribute allows the delegation to build the strongest possible team.
About the 2026 Y20 Summit 🌍
As the official youth engagement group of the G20, the Y20 Summit is the only formal channel through which youth voices are integrated into the G20's official agenda. With the United States holding the 2026 G20 Presidency, this year's highly anticipated Y20 Summit will take place in Washington, D.C., from August 10–14, 2026.
