The 2026 Summit & Hosting
In 2026, France holds the G7 Presidency. While the main G7 Summit will be hosted in Evian, the Y7 Summit will take place from May 17–20, 2026, in Paris.
Young Professionals in Foreign Policy (YPFP) serves as the official recruiting and organizing partner responsible for selecting the American delegation. In this capacity, YPFP manages the competitive selection process, handles preparatory programming, and helps shape the delegation's policy development in collaboration with international partners.
2026 Negotiation Tracks
The 2026 negotiations are centered around four critical global pillars addressing the modern polycrisis:
Economic and Demographic Imbalances: Tackling the global economic challenges generated by shifting demographics, age pyramid inversions, and the future of sustainable growth.
Ecological Crises: Addressing interconnected global challenges across climate action, biodiversity protection, transition energy, environmental health, and secure food systems.
Geopolitical Upheavals: Studying and proposing solutions for the fragmentation of the multilateral system, international trade strain, and the defense of democratic institutions.
Technological Disruptions: Navigating the economic and social risks and opportunities arising from the accelerating artificial intelligence (AI) revolution, digital infrastructure, and online safety.
Importance & Legitimacy
Unlike standard youth conferences, the Y7 is an officially mandated engagement group of the G7 process. It provides the only formal channel through which youth voices are integrated directly into the G7’s official agenda. By selecting and preparing this delegation, YPFP ensures that young American leaders are not just passive observers but are actively drafting the policies that will govern international security, technology, and economics for decades to come.
