What if Israel had aligned with the Soviet Union instead of the West? Join us for a book talk and Q&A with author Patrick Bodovitz as he explores this gripping alternate history of the Cold War, the Middle East, and the road not taken.

The Jewish People's Republic imagines a 1948 in which Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion sends a secret envoy to Moscow, trading Soviet recognition of Israeli independence for a place in the Communist Bloc. What follows is a decades-long struggle over Israel's soul, told through the eyes of an intelligence officer, a Red Army veteran, and a New York journalist watching history unravel from afar.
