About the Event
Before America became a nation, it was a global idea carried across oceans by allies, diplomats, soldiers, and citizens who believed the pursuit of liberty was larger than any one border. From Spanish military support and French naval alliances to international financing and the exchange of democratic ideals, the Revolutionary War and the founding of the United States were made possible through international cooperation and shared sacrifice.
Two hundred and fifty years later, the Globally x YPFP 250 Gala honors that multilateral story of America’s origin by convening diplomats, G20 youth delegates, rising public servants, and global leaders for an evening celebrating the partnerships that shaped the nation’s founding and the next generation that will shape its future.
About the Venue
Hosted at the Embassy of Spain’s Cultural Center in Washington, D.C., the Gala will feature the official G20 Youth Summit Presidency Handoff from the United States to the United Kingdom, symbolizing continued international collaboration and youth leadership at a defining moment for democracies worldwide.
The Cultural Office of the Embassy of Spain is housed in the historic Former Residence of the Ambassadors of Spain, a stunning 1922 Beaux-Arts mansion on 16th Street. Originally envisioned during the Gilded Age as part of a grand diplomatic enclave, the building served as the Spanish ambassador's residence for decades. Today, it stands as a vibrant cultural hub and living museum, dedicated to fostering international relations and showcasing Spanish art and design in the heart of Washington, D.C.
