Bio
Shay works in internal communications for the Department of Defense and joined YPFP to increase her hands-on experience in foreign policy. She is an experienced federal communicator with a background in strategic messaging, editorial leadership, and intercultural communication. Her work centers on clarity, storytelling, and leading cohesive teams.
Shay holds an MA in intercultural and international communication from American University and dual bachelor’s degrees in broadcast & digital journalism and international relations from Syracuse University. She is committed to creating inclusive, dynamic programming that connects young professionals with the ideas, skills, and networks they need to shape the future of foreign policy.

Fun Fact:
Shay fosters cats of all ages through the DC Humane Rescue Alliance – and the occasional puppy too. She enjoys reading and riding her e-bike around D.C.
