Bio

Courtney Blankenship is a Program Associate in the International Programs Division of the National Center for State Courts (NCSC), supporting access to justice and rule of law initiatives across the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia, and serves as Vice President of Communications for Young Professionals in Foreign Policy (YPFP). She holds an M.A. in International Relations from Syracuse University, with a focus on peace, security, and conflict, and she spent the Fall 2021 semester studying in Russia at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations. A Peace Corps Morocco alumna and Critical Language Scholar for Arabic, she previously worked as a research analyst at the Embassy of Bahrain and recently completed the Climate Action Leadership Course in Alaska at Tidelines Institute’s Inian Islands campus.


Courtney earned bachelor’s degrees in political science and communication from Pittsburg State University, and her professional interests focus on how people-centered justice systems build public trust, reduce corruption, and promote stability globally. Courtney serves as a U.S. delegate for the 2026 Youth G20 (Y20) Summit in the "Fragility, Conflict, and Violence" track. She is proficient in Arabic and is building proficiency in Russian.

Fun Fact:

In my free time, I sing in a Washington, D.C.-based Grateful Dead cover band called "The Jerrymanders," and I am an avid plant collector.
