Bio

Connor Martin is the Vice President of Programming and Events for Young Professionals in Foreign Policy (YPFP). He leads the design and execution of YPFP’s flagship programs and forges partnerships with organizations and institutions worldwide, connecting emerging foreign policy professionals, amplifying voices, and expanding the organization’s global impact.


Concurrently, Mr. Martin is an Associate at Global Security Innovative Strategies (GSIS), where he supports strategic advisory projects across the firm’s security portfolio. In this role, Mr. Martin specializes in navigating government programs that provide protections for critical security technologies, ensuring both regulatory compliance and strategic risk mitigation.


Prior to joining GSIS, Mr. Martin worked as an International Logistics Specialist at Metrica Inc., a government contractor for the Office of Technical Assistance (OTA) of the U.S. Department of the Treasury. He managed a portfolio of countries in Eastern Europe and East Africa, ensuring the quality and effectiveness of subcontractor operations for OTA.


In 2023, Mr. Martin worked as a Program Assistant at the United Nations Association of the National Capital Area, advocating for UN funding on Capitol Hill and organizing key events.


In 2022, he worked at the Kenya Human Rights Commission in Nairobi, where he engaged with NGO leaders and developed action plans focused on human rights issues, including the abolition of the death penalty.


Mr. Martin graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and a minor in Political Science from American University.
