Bio
Aaron Chan is a Senior Associate at TAG AI, The Asia Group’s artificial intelligence-enabled geopolitics platform. He drives AI-powered analysis to provide fast-paced solutions across key client Indo-Pacific sectors and markets. His work empowers clients to navigate geopolitical exposure, anticipate legislative and policy shifts, as well as manage structural and regulatory risks.
Before joining TAG, he served as Special Advisor to the National Cyber Director, where he delivered on the President’s domestic and international National Cybersecurity Strategy priorities and drove the office’s Congressional engagement with key offices and committees on critical bills to strengthen and expand US cybersecurity capacity. His prior experiences also include roles at FEMA, the U.S. Senate, the U.S. House of Representatives, and the East-West Center.
Aaron brings a decade of experience on the Indo-Pacific at the intersection of national security, US foreign policy, and political economy, with a particular focus on environmental impacts on development, U.S. strategic competition with China, and regional dynamics across Southeast Asia and the Pacific. As an international youth leader, Aaron has represented the U.S. at multiple high-level fora, including the G20 Youth Summit, UN Water Conference, and the UN Summit of the Future.
Aaron graduated with departmental honors from UCLA with a degree in Global Studies. He also holds a master’s degree in international Affairs, specializing in Conflict & Conflict Resolution from the George Washington University. He has lived, studied, and worked in China and Hong Kong, adding on-the-ground work experience to his international outlook.

Like many in YPFP, I love to travel. So far, I have been to 58 countries and am looking to pump those numbers up soon!
