Ashley Ruiz is a civil servant at the U.S. Department of the Air Force, where she advises on cyber policy and strategy. Named the 2026 Rising Expert in Technology by Young Professionals in Foreign Policy, Ashley has conducted research on behalf of the U.S. Department of State, Office of Naval Research, University of Michigan Physics Department, Charleston Police Department, and The Citadel. She has presented research at the National Collegiate Honors Council Conference, and published research in academic journals such as the Journal of Strategic Security. Ashley earned a Master of Arts in Security Studies from Georgetown University. She also graduated Valedictorian from The Citadel with two Bachelors of Arts.
