Embassy Visit to the Kingdom of Norway in Japan

On July 22, YPFP Tokyo had the pleasure of visiting the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway in Tokyo for a discussion on gender equality, diplomacy, and the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda.
We were honored to have the exchange with H.E. Kristin Iglum, Ambassador of Norway to Japan and Mr. Oddbjørn Lunde, Counsellor of the Embassy of Norway, who shared Norway’s experiences and ongoing efforts to advance gender equality. Norway’s commitment to equality, where opportunities are based on individual capability rather than gender can be seen in various aspects of its society and policies. The discussion covered women’s participation in politics and the workplace, parental leave policies, the role of women in peace and security processes, and opportunities for further cooperation between Norway and Japan.
