The View from Turtle Bay

In a city that hosts the world’s diplomats, your perspective is a critical asset. We help you move beyond the networking mixer to engage in high-level series that put you in the room with decision-makers.

Join our branch to participate in our flagship Ambassador Series, join our Author Book Clubs, or contribute to our Emerging Voices blog. We provide the proximity to power; you provide the insight.

Our Programs

Author Series

Each month, we hold an hour-long discussion with a professor, author or journalist in international affairs, which serves as an opportunity for our membership at-large across the globe to connect and discuss pressing, timely current events and topics with leading foreign policy experts.

Ambassador Series

This is one of YPFP NY's flagship series. This series provides an opportunity to YPFP members and guests to hear from Heads of Mission to the UN, and Consul Generals at the multiple Consulates in NY.  Topics are related to the interest of Consulates and Missions, given developments in their regions or country, or work that they have been doing on the World Stage.

  Professional Development Series

This is a joint program led by the NY and DC branches. The beauty of these events is that they are open to all kinds of audiences. Leadership, networking, how to optimize your LinkedIn profile and resume, how to manage your energy (physical, mental, emotional), how to set our goals and make them achievable are only a few topics we have already covered during these events.

A Look Back to Lead Forward

OAS Cultural Insights: Tábara’s Vision

Facilitators guided the groups through several "injects" that altered the geopolitical landscape in real-time, forcing participants to pivot their strategies and practice crisis communication. This exercise provided a rare window into the high-stakes world of international mediation and strategic planning. Beyond the mechanics of the game itself, the event fostered a deeper appreciation for the trade-offs inherent in every diplomatic victory.
