YPFP Brussels Vacancy: Programmes Officer
Young Professionals in Foreign Policy (YPFP) Brussels is currently looking to recruit a voluntary Programmes Officer. The successful candidate will work under the direct management of the Director of Programmes to plan, organise and moderate YPFP Brussels events.
We are looking for someone with a strong interest in foreign policy and a desire to develop new skills as part of a team of enthusiastic, committed volunteers. Your core tasks will be to develop relations with partners and speakers, organise events from inception to execution, and maintain the positive reputation and success of YPFP Brussels. This is a versatile role that will provide a unique opportunity to develop event organisation, partnership management and teamwork skills, and could lead to the incumbent managing an event series or partnership grant.
You should be self-motivated, well organised and able to work efficiently and autonomously as part of a small team. A good knowledge of global affairs is helpful, but you certainly don’t need to be a foreign policy expert! We value continuity and reliability, so we would ask you to commit to the team for a minimum of one year. You would need to attend monthly team meetings and at least some YPFP events, and respond to emails regularly. A good level of written and spoken English is required.

About YPFP
Young Professionals in Foreign Policy (YPFP) was established in 2004, and is headquartered in Washington, DC, with branches in Brussels, London, and New York. The Brussels branch has around 25 volunteer staff and almost 400 members. It organises around fifty events a year on a very wide range of foreign policy-themed topics: talks (by ambassadors, experts and foreign policy practitioners), panel discussions and socials. We are preparing to celebrate our 10th anniversary in 2018.
YPFP Brussels staff work in one of four teams: Programmes, Security and Defence, Membership, and Communications and Marketing. All staff members are non-remunerated volunteers, giving up their time alongside their own professional activity. As a YPFP staff member, you will have access to specialised trainings, team building activities, and staff socials.
