YPFP Events Staff (Volunteer)
The Events Staff assists with the preparation of a wide range of events. Events are YPFP's most tangible, visible, and valuable contribution to members, and organizing them affords volunteers the opportunity to work closely with influential foreign policy leaders, interact with YPFP members, and develop relationships with foreign policy institutions across Washington.
The Events Staff assists with or performs the following tasks:
1) Devising specific, original meeting topics, a coherent, balanced annual program of events, and innovative event formats and concepts;
2) Identifying, inviting and following-up with distinguished speakers;
3) Planning logistics such as finding venues and coordinating the YPFP calendar;
4) Writing and sending invitations to the YPFP membership and posting information on the website;
5) Tracking meeting registrations and preparing event programs;
6) Presiding at meetings.
Time commitment varies significantly depending on responsibilities and the events calendar, but is manageable. Staff members are required to attend YPFP events regularly, in addition to a mandatory monthly planning meeting. This is an excellent entry-level position with excellent advancement opportunities.
