YPFP accepted it's 1,900th member.

This January, YPFP's leadership adjusted upwards our predictions for annual membership growth and so far we are tracking as projected. YPFP anticipates a global membership of 4,000 members by the end of the year. Data about the size and characteristics of the membership are used to plan the size and frequency of events, forecast traffic on our website, and prepare for future geographic expansions, among other variables.

The rationale for the adjustment is that the size of YPFP's membership is not just steadily increasing each month, but it's accelerating. The Membership Committee currently receives an average of 150 applications every month, which is double the number a year ago.

The resulting volume has led to regrettably long wait times as applicants are reviewed. There are currently almost 250 pending applications under consideration by the Membership Committee, which carefully reviews and votes on each application.

The leading source of referrals in word-of-mouth. Many applicants find YPFP while searching for jobs or researching foreign policy issues. Facebook.com is another significant contributor of new recruits. YPFP does minimal advertising and recruiting.

The explosive growth is a testament to the value of the community and the network that young professionals want to join, and to the YPFP events and public service programming we offer.

That really is incredible, Josh. YPFP's growth in the span of just a few short years has been astounding.
