YPFP is pleased to announce the launch of a new series dedicated to career-focused events. This new series will give members the opportunity to tap into the wisdom and experience of established professionals from different sectors within foreign policy and foreign affairs.
We are delighted to start off this series by welcoming Dr Tom Pegram and Sarah Smith as our speakers on a career in human rights.
Dr Pegram is a Lecturer in Global Governance and the Deputy Director of Global Governance Institute at UCL. He has extensive experience of working for policy-makers and practitioners at the local and international level, including the UN OHCHR, Amnesty International and other governmental and non-governmental agencies.
Sarah Smith is the Human Rights and Rule of Law Policy Adviser at The Law Society of England and Wales. She leads on the Society's human rights and rule of law work, including international policy, addressing human rights violations and running a programme to promote the rule of law, good governance and access to justice globally. She has 9 years of experience working in development and human rights, including throughout South America and Europe.
The format of the event will be a conversational style and we encourage you to ask any career-focused questions you may have.
The event will be followed by networking drinks nearby at the Punchbowl Pub, 41 Farm Street, W1J 5RP.
