This summer will see the Warsaw NATO Summit, which will evaluate and provide strategic direction for the Alliance in a highly volatile security environment. Since the Wales Summit in 2014, NATO has been in the process of adapting to this new environment, and it faces a number of challenging questions. Through a hands-on and interactive workshop, we will understand better the challenges of refocusing the Alliance on eastern and southern security threats, and how will diverging interests be balanced as part of a coherent strategy.
Each Action Points Workshop gathers YPFP members for an interactive session in which they hear introductory remarks from NATO officials before being divided into groups and asked to examine one particular aspect of the topic at hand. Their conclusions are then fed back to the speaker for comments and further dialogue. The outcomes of each workshop will form the basis of discussion at the YPFP Model North Atlantic Council, to be held in December 2016.
