YPFP DC: Mentorship Opportunity with LearnServe International

Posted on August 29, 2013

YPFP is excited to announce an amazing upcoming opportunity to mentor exceptional high school students participating in LearnServe, a program designed to help high school students develop and implement business plans for social entrepreneurship projects! Sign up by Monday, September 9th.

What is it?

As a LearnServe Venture Mentor, you'll work with students on innovative and creative social ventures meant to solve some of today's most pressing issues. For example, you'll help coach students as they develop proposals to increase access to college, reduce our carbon footprint or provide artistic opportunities for low income youth.

How it works:

Venture Mentors volunteer for a series of three after-school mentorship sessions during the Fall Semester, Spring Semester, or both. Pairs of mentors are assigned to groups of up to 6 LearnServe Fellows or alumni, and work with this group over the course of the semester. During each session, mentors work one-on-one or in small groups to support students with their venture design, launch, or implementation. Mentor sessions will take place at the School Without Walls, on the campus of George Washington University in Foggy Bottom.
