YPFP Brussels calls for volunteer applications
Today, Monday 3 February 2014, YPFP Brussels launches its spring round of volunteer recruitment with staff openings across all aspects of its volunteer team.
The call for volunteers covers new roles in the Communications team, Security and Defence team, Membership and the wider Programming team.
“We have exciting plans for 2014 and we want to make sure we have the staff capacity to both maintain the excellent events and communications we already do, as well as helping us make the most of the new opportunities,” says Bryony Taylor, Managing Director of YPFP Brussels.
During 2013 the branch held over 50 events, strengthened its membership community and launched new communications projects around the world.
“It was our strongest year ever, and also our 5th anniversary in Brussels,” explains Taylor. “We couldn’t do any of it without the hours of dedication that the volunteer staff put it.”
“Volunteering with YPFP is a professional occupation, it’s not simply 2 hours a week; we are a very demanding organisation,” adds Taylor, “but you get far more out than you put it in. I have volunteered in the team for 3 years, and it’s been one of the best things I ever did.”
Last year also saw the branch launch regular skills building and training sessions for staff only in an effort to ensure staff feel like they are developing and building their own knowledge.
“I can’t wait to meet the successful candidates of this round. It’s highly competitive to get on the staff, and I think that’s an indication of how respected the organisation is, and how great the team is,” says Taylor.
