How YPFP Brussels are you?
For the first time since it was established five years ago, YPFP Brussels has analysed its membership statistics and mapped out what a typical branch member looks like.
With a 60-40 membership gender balance, she is 29 years old, speaks 3 languages and works in the public/non-profit sector.
But this is far from being the whole picture! YPFP Brussels members are also active in many fields, such as lobbying and corporate employment and come from diverse backgrounds.
“As we continue to grow and develop as an organization it is important for us to maintain the same sense of community we have always had. This relies on us knowing what our members want, what drives them, and indeed, what the profile of a typical member is,” said Alex Godson, Director of Communications and Marketing.
Community and networks
YPFP Brussels offers its members access to a distinguished array of speakers and networking opportunities – putting on over 50 events in the last year, attended by over 2,000 people. Through its flagship Ambassador Series to the monthly Tools of the Trade skills workshops, YPFP Brussels aims to provide its membership with the skills, knowledge and exposure to help them succeed during the course of their careers.
“We are always looking for new ways to provide members new and exciting content,” explains Godson. “Our YouTube channel, YPFP TV, www.youtube.com/ypfptv is a great example of how we have managed to do this over the past year. We feature regular interviews with different policy experts who answer questions posed directly by our members.”
In addition to the great programme of events and networking opportunities, YPFP Brussels offers its members a unique set of benefits to help them make the most of their time in the capital of Europe.
“Our membership benefits package is worth close to €1,000 and offers a range of discounts from gym membership to reduced magazine subscriptions and money off books. It is just another way we have worked to develop the YPFP Brussels community and give back to our members,” said Noora Lampinen, Deputy-Director of Membership.
