Public diplomacy aims to support foreign policy goals and objectives to advance and enhance national interests and security by informing and influencing foreign publics. Key to this mission is fostering and expanding the relationship between one nation and citizens of the world.
Our Tools of the Trade series will introduce you to the practical skills employed by diplomats to strengthen the relationships with foreign audiences as well as achieve the goals of their Embassy. Building on your skills this workshop will address communication with international audiences, cultural programming, exchange programs, and how to develop a public diplomacy strategy to advance foreign policy goals. While we will touch briefly on media and social media engagement, the focus of the workshop will be on the programmatic side of public diplomacy.
To learn more about what it takes to be a public diplomacy practitioner, YPFP Brussels and the U.S. Mission to the EU invite you to join us for this workshop followed by a reception.
This event marks the first of our Tools of the Trade series for 2016.
Please note that participants will need to bring their ID to the event for identification.
