In 2004, Young Professionals in Foreign Policy (YPFP) was founded on the idea that more needed to be done today to prepare tomorrow’s leaders to face the toughest global challenges. To fulfill this mission, we created an organization designed to connect young professionals from all areas of international affairs and build a global community of future foreign policy leaders. Leveraging this unique opportunity to shape the views of a generation during the first formative years of their career, we set out to engage them on a wide range of foreign policy issues through unique and innovative programming.

YPFP is preparing the next generation by providing young professionals with opportunities to obtain the exposure, knowledge, skills and relationships they will need to tackle the world’s toughest challenges over the course of their careers.

Since its founding, YPFP has grown to a community of more than 5,000 members involved in foreign policy at government agencies, non-profits, think tanks, media, graduate schools, and the private sector, with branches in four cities worldwide. YPFP is run by a dedicated staff of more than 150 volunteers worldwide and relies on charitable contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations to support its programs and member services.

Your donation will have a direct impact on the various programs and initiatives YPFP operates, including:

  • Public service initiatives such as the Refugee Assistance Program and YPFP in the Classroom
  • Global branches in Washington, Brussels, London, and New York
  • Programming Series, including the Ambassadors Series, Tools of the Trade, Civil-Military Dialogue, Global Development and Human Rights, and Words and Wires
  • Contribute to leadership training and career development seminars
  • Produce educational, informational, and promotional materials
  • Support our interactive website
