Job Description

Reporting to the Deputy Director, Project Management Office, Marketing & Communications (MarComms), the Project Officer will provide project management for marketing, fundraising and engagement campaigns. The Officer will serve as a hub for projects across Marketing, Digital Fundraising, Research, Entertainment Marketing, Digital Platforms, Sports Partnerships, Public Relations, Design and Content/Editorial in order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization’s marketing and promotional efforts. The Project Officer will work across USF with a wide variety of colleagues and departments to prioritize and steer Marketing & Communications efforts that support the organizational strategic plan and goals. 

Job Responsibilities

The Officer will serve as a hub for projects across Marketing, Digital Fundraising, Research, Entertainment Marketing, Digital Platforms, Sports Partnerships, Public Relations, Design and Content/Editorial in order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization’s marketing and promotional efforts. The Project Officer will work across USF with a wide variety of colleagues and departments to prioritize and steer Marketing & Communications efforts that support the organizational strategic plan and goals. 

Key Responsibilities/Outcomes (include but are not limited to):

  • Rollout and support of Marketing and Communications ticketing request system and broader Marketing and Communications project management process
  • Project management of one or more USF nationwide campaigns
  • Support the divisional revenue goal/link the prioritization of divisional projects with this goal
  • Maintenance and circulation of calendar of divisional projects
  • Project management of some MarComms cross-team projects
  • Preparation of pre-approved, MarComms project management templates
  • Establish milestones on MarComms projects; ensure projects meet deadlines
  • Execute clear roles and responsibilities on MarComms project
  • Execute clear prioritization and adequate information on MarComms requests
  • Contribute to MarComms strategy by evaluating and assessing projects for relevancy to strategic plan and evaluating projects based on operations insights
  • Provide recommendations to MarComms team based on lessons-learned and data/results from project and campaign management
  • Utilize best-in-class project management tools to improve efficiency of MarComms work

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years relevant work experience, preferably in a project or campaign management/coordination capacity
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and demonstrate a strong commitment to providing excellent customer satisfaction
  • Must be solution-oriented, take initiative and have the ability to find common ground across a variety of teams
  • Solid written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work with colleagues in and out of the Marketing & Communications Division
  • Experience with using a wide variety of digital platforms a plus or willingness to learn new software and platforms as needed
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and Basecamp (and other web project management tools) preferred
  • Demonstrated interest in global affairs and/or youth/children’s rights issues a plus
