President Obama in Cuba: A Debrief

In March 2016, President Obama embarked on a historic trip to Cuba, something a sitting United States President hadn’t done in almost 90 years. This comes on the heels of a variety of measures since 2014 aimed at resuming normalization between the two countries.

Siobhan Sheils, Director for Central America and the Caribbean at the National Security Council, played a leading role in preparing for the President’s trip, and YPFP is honored that she has agreed to share her insights on the trip and the normalization in relations between Cuba and the United States with our membership.

This off the record discussion will be moderated by Sarah Heck, who is YPFP’s Vice Chair of the Board of Directors.
