In 2011, he was nominated by The Diplomatic Courier as one of the “Top 99 Foreign Policy Leaders Under 33.” He has been published in Foreign Policy and New Global Citizen magazines, and has been interviewed in newspaper, radio, and television in half a dozen countries.

When he's not traveling or writing, Elliott spends time with his two sons, Maxwell and Alexander.  He enjoys camping, fishing, playing the guitar, and chess.  He's a die-hard sports fan, supporting all Chicago teams (Cubs, not Sox), and Real Madrid.

Elliott grew up in Chicago and now lives in Washington, DC.  The Kingmaker is his first published novel. The Kingmaker is a riveting thriller that follows a story of political intrigue in Colombia and was a finalist for the Chanticleer Book Awards in the Global Thriller category.
