Partnership Intern

The German Marshall Fund of the United States seeks an energetic, detail-oriented, creative individual to assist with all aspects of the German Marshall Fund’s Partnership Office. At GMF, the Partnership office is responsible for fundraising from outside sources (Foundations, Corporations, and Governments) for GMF core programming.

The German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF) is an American institution that stimulates the exchange of ideas and promotes cooperation between the United States and Europe in the spirit of the postwar Marshall Plan. GMF was created in 1972 by a gift from Germany as a permanent memorial to Marshall Plan aid.

Responsibilities of the Partnership Intern include:

• conducting in-depth prospect research;
• assisting in drafting grant correspondence;
• database maintenance;
• managing production and implementation of in-house mailing projects;
• providing administrative/clerical support to the Director of Partnerships;
• maintaining filing systems;
• assisting in meeting planning and implementation; and,
• other duties as assigned.

Interest in the programs and priorities of the German Marshall Fund is essential. The position is open to qualified candidates who possess strong writing and organizational skills, as well as an interest in development. The position (unpaid) will start in September and end in December.
