Job Title: Events Manager, New York Programming

Position Description: 

The YPFP New York Programming Team is seeking a motivated, organized, and enthusiastic volunteer to assist with the planning, administration, and running of YPFP New York events. In addition to working with the New York Programming team leaders to develop the New York Programming calendar, the successful candidate will serve as the lead for planning and executing on all event logistics, including securing event space, liaising with vendors and event partners, serving as the on-the-ground event manager, and interfacing with speakers, partners, and current and potential YPFP members at events. This is a versatile role that will provide a unique opportunity to develop event organization, partnership management, and teamwork skills. 


  • Lead in the management of YPFP New York events, including procurement of venues, development and execution of event logistics, on-the-ground management, and event follow-up
  • Establish and build relationships with vendors, event partners, YPFP staff, and current and potential YPFP members
  • Coordinate with other YPFP New York teams to ensure proper organization of events from start to finish
  • Propose ideas for event topics, formats, speakers and venues
  • Act as an ambassador for YPFP at events and in communications with members, speakers and partners
  • Assist with other tasks as needed or as directed by the Director of Programming

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated, well organized, and able to work efficiently and autonomously as part of a small team
  • Willing and able to contribute approximately 5 hours of work per week, ensuring email and other communications are consistently and promptly attended to on a daily basis
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills
  • Able to attend most YPFP New York events, which are typically held during weeknight evenings
  • Strong sense of professionalism and discretion
  • Current YPFP member in good standing or willing to become a member
  • Previous experience in events management is an asset
  • Demonstrated interest in foreign policy, international affairs, and/or membership organizations
