WORLD CHILDREN’S FESTIVAL
Washington DC - June 22-25, 2007

Come heal, inspire and unify children across the globe ...

The world's largest celebration of children's talents and imagination - the World Children's Festival - will showcase children's creativity and talents, equip them with communication and collaboration skills, and promote mutual respect and trust for the next generation of global leaders.

The Festival culminates the Third Arts Olympiad, a free global program of the ICAF in which more than three million children in about 100 countries produced amazing works on the theme “My Favorite Sport to celebrate the artist-athlete ideal of a creative mind and healthy body.

The Arts Olympiad winners will represent their U.S. state and overseas countries at the Festival. Children performance groups from around the world will join these visual artists and artist-athletes on the National Mall on June 23-25. The Festival at 4th to 7th Streets of the National Mall is open and free to the public. By combining art and sport, movemnet and music, health and creativity, the Festival will generate a complete synesthetic experience - a total work of art that transforms the National Mall.

“Art and sport have the powers to change the world, the power to inspire, the power to unite people in a way that little else can. Art and sport speak to people in a language they understand. Art and sport can create hope where there was once only despair. They are instruments for peace, even more powerful than governments, remarked Nobel Laureate Nelson R. Mandela.
