The mission of the YPFP Global Development Series is to engage young professionals from a variety of backgrounds in the challenges of global development, to create a forum for exchange and innovation across organizations and sectors, and to foster the next generation of leaders who will guide and monitor foreign policy as it relates to global development. YPFP's Global Development Speaker Series provides the opportunity for young professionals to engage directly with experts on some of the most pressing questions in current development dialogue. Events focus on topics in U.S. foreign policy related to global development such as food security, HIV/AIDS, poverty, sustainable energy, trade reform, corruption and governance, debt relief, and sustainability. To ensure a balanced discourse, we invite speakers from a variety of institutions including UN agencies, U.S. government agencies, developing countries, independent research institutions, the media, and NGOs. We also host film screenings, round tables, and a variety of events to engage thoughtful discussion. The need for collaboration and coordination has never been stronger, both between development institutions and between donors, governments, private companies, civil society, and academics who affect development outcomes. The YPFP Global Development Series therefore encourages members from all professional backgrounds to participate. A list of previous events is available here [1].
