Managing Director for Communications
Department: Communications
Location: Washington, DC
Description of duties: Assist the Vice President for Communications in overseeing and coordinating the activities of the Communications department, including managing the branches in London, New York, and Brussels; Serve as Acting Vice President for Communications in the event that the Vice President is unavailable. Moderate time commitment. Must be available to meet weekly and respond to emails daily.
Availability during business hours: Not required.
Qualifications: Background in communications or journalism or equivalent professional experience; Ability to work well with others; Must possess strong communication skills including the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from constituency groups, governmental entities, and media groups. Professional writing and/or editing experience a plus.

Location: Washington, DC
Description of duties: Work directly with the Vice President for Membership in: processing new member applications; maintaining the membership database; coordinating the vetting of applications; recruiting new members; Serve as Acting Vice President for Membership in the event that the Vice President is unavailable. Moderate time commitment; must be available to meet weekly and respond to emails daily.

Qualifications: Strong organizational skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office including Excel and Access or equivalent software. Web experience a plus.

Description of duties: Write and submit articles for the YPFP Wire newsletter (once every two months or as required by the editor), covering the activities of the London branch.

Location: Washington, DC
Description of duties: Work directly with the Director of Donor Relations to organize and manage all Washington DC individual fundraising campaigns including happy hours, receptions, special events, etc.; Develop new fundraising initiatives.

Qualifications: Experience with fundraising campaigns on either small or large-scale; event planning experience; Strong organizational skills and demonstrated initiative; Must possess strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work well with a team.

Description of duties: Assist the Director of Financial Operations in: managing the finances of the organization, including all grants, donations, and fundraising proceeds; creating and maintaining annual budgets and departmental budgets; handling expense reimbursements, invoice payments, and other financial details; coordinating with the Finance team for strategic development and fundraising initiatives.

Qualifications: Background in financial management or equivalent professional experience. Must be trustworthy, organized, and professional. At least two years professional experience required.

Description of duties: Develop and pursue strategic development initiatives for YPFP; Seek sources of long-term funding for the organization from both public and private sector sources and foundations; Develop organizational and corporate partnerships. Manage and coordinate the development staff.
Availability during business hours: moderate
Qualifications: Must possess strong interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively present information in a professional setting; Experience in strategic planning and/or grant writing; Strong understanding and familiarity of the foreign affairs sector in Washington DC, both public and private. Must be creative, motivated, and willing to take initiative.

Description of duties: Act as YPFP point of contact for corporate and private sector partners of the New York branch. Foster relationships with potential corporate partners.

Qualifications: Must possess strong interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively present information in a professional setting; Experience in professional correspondence; Background in business administration or equivalent professional experience; Sales experience a plus; At least two years professional experience preferred.

Special Assistant for Programming
Department: Programming

Description of duties: Organize and coordinate at least one YPFP speaker series event every month. This includes: liaising with and securing guest speaker(s), securing a venue, drafting the invitation, receiving and managing RSVPs, executing the event; Identify and liaise with potential future speakers and special guests; Assist in coordination of special events such as fundraising events and happy hours.
Availability during business hours: occasional
Qualifications: Strong organizational skills; Attention to detail; Familiarity with professional events and policy discussions; Professional event coordination experience desirable.
