The Office of Dr. Zbigniew Brzezinski is seeking an assistant for research. The research assistant (RA) accompanies Dr. Brzezinski to various meetings, especially those with foreign ambassadors or officials, drafts memoranda of conversation, and acts as general aide-de-camp. The RA typically joins Dr. Brzezinski on one trip abroad over the course of two years of work, usually producing an extensive country brief in preparation. The current RA will have traveled to China and Mongolia with Dr. Brzezinski, as well as to Germany and Ukraine as part of an ongoing transatlantic project to improve Ukrainians relations with the EU and U.S.. The RA frequently conducts background research and editing for op-eds, journal pieces, or books. Responsibilities also include various administrative tasks and a weekly briefing of foreign news articles highlighting key geostrategic insights, analyses, facts, or trends.
This is a full-time position, for up to two years. Applicants should have superior writing and organizational skills, discretion, and a strong background in strategic aspects of international relations. Minimum requirements include a Bachelor of Arts/Sciences degree in international relations or related field. Fluency in French, German, Russian, Chinese, or Japanese, is a plus.
