YPFP Volunteers with Upwardly Global

For many college-educated immigrants, the experience of coming to the US is one of unnecessary downward mobility. Over 1 million college-educated legal immigrants exist as the working poor, earning less than $20,000 a year. In their home countries they were bankers, attorneys, activists, and educators. Now they are nannies, cab drivers, and security guards.

Upwardly Global is an award-winning and entrepreneurial non-profit that works to integrate fully work-authorized immigrant professionals into the American workforce. YPFP will be forming a volunteer team to conduct an evening of Mock Interviews with these skilled immigrant professionals. Each YPFP member will leverage his or her own professional skills to help candidates prepare for the competitive job market and rebuild their careers in the United States. All members are encouraged to participate in this event (no prior experience or foreign language skills necessary).
