Words & Wires Series: "The Cuba Wars" with Daniel P. Erikson

Since Fidel Castro ceded power to his brother Raul in 2008, there has been increased focus on Cuba and its future. Raul Castro has enacted many reforms, raising the intriguing possibility that Cuba, like China, might be gradually opening up to capitalism. Yet what about Cuba’s political system- will it reform?

For our next installment of Words and Wires Series, YPFP is pleased to host Daniel P. Erikson, Senior Associate for U.S. policy and Director of Caribbean Programs at the Inter-American Dialogue, who will speak about his recent book The Cuba Wars: Fidel Castro, the United States, and the Next Revolution. In this work, Erikson explores Cuba’s unknown future and its potential relationship with the United States.

The discussion will be held from 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. in Washington, DC on Thursday, February 25. This event is open to Affiliate and General Members and will be off-the-record. You must log-in to your member account to register for this event. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at events@ypfp.org.
