While the NATO Summit in Wales was underway, unfolding crises as far afield as Ukraine, Syria and Mali threatened to overshadow this important meeting. A definite Summit highlight included the announcement of a new NATO Rapid Response Force. Discussion also ran deep on the future role of the alliance. Does Wales represent a new beginning for NATO, or will we continue to see business as usual?
YPFP, generously supported by NATO, will tackle this question in the fifth of a new events series, “YPFP Decision Points”. Led by two expert speakers to advocate each side of the debate, the discussion will be taken into the audience, who will work in small teams to give their own view on this fundamental question facing the Alliance. The outputs of the session will be shared across the YPFP network and transmitted back to NATO officials, giving young professionals a voice on the issues that matter in the run up and aftermath to the 2014 NATO Summit in Wales.
