National Security Network –Fall Internship (Washington, DC)
The National Security Network is a new organization that promotes pragmatic and principled foreign policy to ensure a secure and prosperous future for the United States. The Network brings foreign policy and national security experts together, gathers the best ideas, clarifies the message, and distributes the ideas across the country.
The Washington, D.C. office is currently looking for interns to work on all aspects of the organization including policy, state outreach, communications and fundraising. The intern will work closely with the Executive Director, Policy Director and Communications Director.
This is a unique opportunity to have a significant impact with a start up organization and interact with leaders in the progressive foreign policy community. Additionally, the organization’s mission will give the intern an opportunity to interact with a broader community of foreign policy experts.
Responsibilities of the intern will include (but are not limited to):
• Writing and editing issue briefs, talking points and op-eds on key national security issues
• Assisting with research projects
• Working on web based projects of the organization
• Helping coordinate event logistics
• Assisting with general administrative duties
Preferred Qualifications:
• Educational concentration in International Relations or a related field
• Ability to work independently in fast paced dynamic start up environment
• Flexibility to handle diverse tasks
• Relevant research experience,
• Familiarity with MS Office
• Ability to interact with members in person and over the phone
• Related administrative experience
• Candidates should be able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week
