Karlijn Jans is a defense and security policy expert. She completed her masters in European law at Maastricht University and European Politics at King's College London, specializing in defence policies and German politics. Karlijn spent exchange semesters at the Humboldt University in Berlin and the University of Bologna in Italy. She previously worked at the Netherlands Embassy in Berlin, the European Institute of Public Administration, the Dutch Ministry of Education and Science and is currently an EU policy advisor in Brussels. Karlijn is a part-time modular student at the Netherlands Defence Academy and chairs the Netherlands Atlantic Youth Association. Her work has previously appeared in publications like Charged Affairs, European Geostrategy and the German Marshall Fund of the United States.
