John J. Martin is the Global Transparency Fellow at Young Professionals in Foreign Policy (YPFP). John is primarily concerned with answering one simple question: how do we get our information? He earned his BA in International Relations from New York University, and has resided and studied in Abu Dhabi, New York, and Washington DC over the past five years. During his undergraduate studies, John authored a thesis illustrating the positive relationship between transparency within autocratic regimes and foreign aid inflows. He has previously worked at the US Department of State, the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, and the Office of the Manhattan Borough President.
