Job Description We are looking for writing interns who are passionate about the issues shaping the lives of young people and want to learn how to reach thousands of readers. Our remote internship program teaches you the skills needed to shape the national dialogue. You’ll learn how to write about news for an online audience, how to make stories go viral, and how to be the top search result on Google, all while starting meaningful debate that gets noticed. Job Posting Date:  January 22, 2013 Job Closing Date:  February 5, 2013 Job Qualifications The remote internship is available to talented writers looking to hone their new media writing skills while burnishing their résumé. Undergraduate and graduate students are especially encouraged to apply, and must be able to commit 10-20 hours per week. This internship is ideal for those with a background in Political Science, Journalism, Communications, History, and Sociology, but we welcome applications from all disciplines, as one of PolicyMic’s strengths is the diversity of our writers. As part of the application process, applicants must provide a writing sample to demonstrate that they possess a level of proficiency appropriate to PolicyMic’s standards. (Samples should be ~500 words on some news event the applicant has written about.)
