Event Assistant – Greening & Competitive Europe

We promote the confrontation of ideas that is vital to policymaking and encourage wider involvement in Europe’s future.
Our portfolio of publications and events means that Friends of Europe contributes ideas on almost all EU-related issues. We have developed particular expertise in the areas of Global Europe, the Future of Europe, Greening Europe, Competitive Europe and Life Quality Europe.
We are now looking for an Event Assistant for our Greening Europe and Competitive Europe Programmes. As an integral part of a small and dynamic team, the Event Assistant will contribute significantly to the operations of the think tank under the supervision of the Programme Executive.
Responsibilities will include:
Supporting the administrative and organisational work, such as database management, contacting participants, event registration and logistics, etc.
Updating the website regularly, both the events and policy area pages
Contributing to the production of marketing and communication material, including programmes, reports, invitations, etc.
Assisting in the research of potential speakers, participants and authors for our journal Europe’s World
Helping on-site during events
Monitoring press and other strategic sources of information (EU institutions websites, etc.)
Assisting with the development of content material as needed, including writing news articles
University degree or equivalent
English mother tongue or similar, other languages an asset
Knowledge/interest in EU affairs and in particular in the field of energy, environment and economics
Pro-active attitude, highly motivated, well-organised and detail-oriented
Proven capacity to collaborate effectively within an international team, requiring flexibility and a team-spirit approach
Ability to work well under pressure with fixed deadlines and little supervision
Good administrative and communication skills (orally and in writing)
Excellent computer skills (MS Office packages, social media, etc.)
