Digital Content Creator, Spanish Instruction (Summer 2014)

Position Description 

We are looking for a Digital Content Creator for the summer of 2014 to help us create and deliver high-quality lessons to millions of people learning Spanish. This is the perfect opportunity for teachers, graduate students, and professors who have free time during the summer. Our team at Curiosity Media runs SpanishDict.com, the world's largest Spanish reference and learning website, which reached over 75 million unique visitors in 2013. We’ve also just launched Fluencia, an adaptive learning platform that is redefining the way people learn Spanish online.  This is a rare opportunity to join a fast-growing team and make a big impact on how the world learns Spanish.

Roles and Responsibilities 

 

  • Create compelling Spanish language lessons for Fluencia, including interactive dialogues, engaging cultural lessons, clear grammar instruction, and comprehensive reviews
  • Work alongside other members of the content team to edit lessons and articles to ensure the quality is consistently high
  • Write, coordinate, and star in short-form video content
  • Enhance dictionary and reference materials to provide clearer, more accurate content

Eligibility and Requirements 

 

  • A bilingual candidate with in-depth knowledge of Spanish and English
  • Strong writers, capable of creating gripping headlines, crafting succinct copy, and injecting humor into writing
  • Consistency in writing style, tone, and voice and a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a timely fashion
  • Imaginative techniques to help enhance the learning process
  • Proactive, flexible team players
  • Creative ideas for content that will appeal to a wide audience
  • Experience teaching the Spanish language at a high-school or university level
  • Experience writing instructional materials, lesson plans, assessment materials, or storyboards for digital materials
  • A passion for language learning
  • An advanced degree in Spanish language, literature, linguistics, second-language acquisition, or similar fields
