Europe today faces a multitude of crises. Challenges created by refugees continue to mount, financial instability persists, the potential for the first national exit from the European Union is now very real, and a rising tide of populism and autocracy is sweeping across the continent. Questions about the future of Europe have not been so pronounced in decades. What consequences do these crises hold for the future of the transatlantic relationship? Do these crises have implications for global security outside of Europe? Join the NCAFP as we host William Drozdiak, former editor and chief European correspondent for The Washington Post to discuss these questions and many more.
William Drozdiak is a nonresident senior fellow in the Center on the United States and Europe at The Brookings Institution, and a senior advisor for Europe with McLarty Associates, an international strategic consultancy firm based in Washington, D.C. He is the author of Fractured Continent: Europe's Crises and the Fate of the West (W. W. Norton & Company, 2017).
