Technology, New Media, and Foreign Policy: Perspectives from the State Department and Google
Please join YPFP New York for a discussion about Technology, New Media, and Foreign Policy.
The State Department has always strived to make the most of technology in cultivating connections with Americans and locals abroad, but those efforts have never received more focus than today. New Media, emerging technologies, and public-private partnerships with technology firms such as Google provide greater opportunities than ever before for the DoS to connect directly with people overseas and help provide services such as mobile banking and earthquake relief. Please join us on Thursday, April 29 from 7-8:30 PM as we host two practitioners at the forefront of these sweeping changes: Suzanne Hall (New Media Advisor, U.S. Department of State) and Craig Nevill-Manning (Engineering Director, Google).
