Words & Wires Series: Europe's Promise with Steven Hill
A quiet revolution has been occurring in Europe. A world power has emerged across the Atlantic that is re-crafting the rules for how a modern society should provide economic security, environmental sustainability, and global stability. What does this new unified power mean for Europe and the rest of the world?
YPFP’s Words and Wires series invites you to join this special event with Steven Hill, the Director of the Political Reform Program for the New America Foundation, who will speak about his new book Europe’s Promise. In this work, Hill shatters myths and shows how Europe's leadership manifests in five major areas: economic strength; the best health care and other workfare supports for families and individuals; widespread use of renewable energy technologies and conservation; the world's most advanced democracies; and regional networks of trade, foreign aid, and investment that link one-third of the world to the European Union. Europe's Promise masterfully conveys how Europe has taken the lead in this make-or-break century challenged by a worldwide economic crisis and global warming.
The discussion will be held from 7:00 - 8:30 pm in Washington, DC on Tuesday, January 19. To register, login to your YPFP account and sign up under the event listing. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at events@ypfp.org.
