YPFP NY: The Prospect for Mideast Peace - A Discussion with Rashid Khalidi

December 02, 2013 06:30 pm

Please join YPFP NY for a discussion with Rashid Khalidi, noted Middle East scholar, about the United States' role as a mediator in the Israeli-Palestinian relationship. This event is held in partnership with the NYU Political Union and Review.

In Mr. Khalidi's most recent book, Brokers of Deceit: How the US has Undermined Peace in the Middle East, he argues that the American-brokered peace negotiations have not only failed but have stalled progress towards peace. He also notes that the U.S. role remains central as there is no other counterweight capable of wielding the same amount of influence.

This discussion will be followed by a reception, with time for book purchasing and signing.
