YPFP NY: Political Risk 101

April 02, 2014 06:45 pm

Please join YPFP NY for an overview and discussion of political risk research and analysis, with Munish Puri.

Mr. Puri will present an overview of the profession, history, industry, and trends of political risk. He will also focus on the role of emergent technology--social media and big data--in assessing political risk.

For those interested in a career in political risk, Mr. Puri will provide advice on which practical skills, coursework, and experiences create strong candidates, as well as present tips for using social media to develop one's craft and brand as an analyst. He will also consider the industry landscape and the organizations that produce and consume political risk analysis.

Mr. Puri is a geopolitical risk consultant and open-source intelligence trainer for Presearch Consulting in Washington, DC. He also serves as a community manager for the professional network Managing Political Risk and is a co-founder and advisory board member of the Fletcher Political Risk Forum at Tufts University. In the past, Mr. Puri has worked as an independent consultant on matters of political risk, international business strategy, and social media in New York, London, and Johannesburg.
