Young Professionals in Foreign Policy is pleased to announce the launch of the Global Diplomacy Series with a kick-off event, "Going Forward: U.S. Involvement in the United Nations," on Tuesday, January 22, 2013. Lieutenant Colonel Glenn Sadowski, U.S. Delegation to the United Nations Military Staff Committee, will offer formal remarks, followed by a Q & A session and a drinks reception.    

The Global Diplomacy Series offers YPFP members the opportunity to engage with the most distinguished diplomatic representatives in New York, including diplomats from permanent missions, consulates, and embassies. Discussions will typically be off-the-record, open to a limited number of attendees, and take place at the relevant embassy, residence, or cultural office.

Please note that the event is at the Observer Mission of the Order of Malta to the UN, which bears no affiliation to the Maltese Mission, and is located at 216 East 47th Street.

Lieutenant Colonel Glenn Sadowski joined the U.S. Mission to the United Nations in December 2006 and serves on the U.S. Delegation to the United Nations Military Staff Committee (J5/JCS).

The U.S. Delegation to the United Nations Military Staff Committee represents the Joint Chiefs of Staff on the United Nations Military Staff Committee, a body of the UN Security Council that is composed of military representatives of the Permanent Five (P5) members of the UN Security Council. The U.S. Delegation to the United Nations Military Staff Committee also provides advice to the U.S. Permanent Representative and the staff of the U.S. Mission to the United Nations on military and security aspects of UN operations and activities.
