YPFP NY: Global Diplomacy Series event with Dutch Ambassador Rudolf Bekink
Join YPFP for a special Global Diplomacy Series breakfast event hosted by the Netherlands Consulate General in New York, with support of the Netherlands Embassy in Washington, DC.
Dutch Ambassador Rudolf Bekink will be speaking to select YPFP members on economic ties between the United States and the Netherlands and transatlantic relations, including the upcoming Nuclear Security Summit, which will be held at the Hague on March 24-25, 2014. Following Ambassador Bekink's remarks, there will be time for questions and discussion. A light breakfast will also be served.

Ambassador Rudolf Bekink has been the Dutch Ambassador to the United States since 2012. A career diplomat with stints in Greece, Angola, Ghana, among other places, he most recently served as the ambassador to the People's Republic of China (2008-2012), Belgium (2004-2008), and Sweden (2000-2004). He was also the Deputy Head of Mission Dutch Permanent Representation to the OECD Paris and the first secretary for the Political Department in the Embassy in Washington, DC, covering Africa, Latin America, and protocol. He has a master's degree in economics from the University of Groningen. He is married and has three grown sons.
