YPFP NY: Global Diplomacy Series event on Canada's Changing Role in Foreign Policy
Join YPFP NY for a Global Diplomacy Series event on June 17, 2013, with Canadian Consul-General John F. Prato, titled "Moving Forward: Canada's Changing Role in Foreign Policy." A small group of YPFP members will attend a discussion of Canada's changing role in foreign policy and partnership with the EU and United States on diplomatic challenges. The event will take place in Mr. Prato's private residence. Time for discussion and questions from YPFP members will be allotted, following the presentation. Light fare and beverages will be provided.

John F. Prato assumed his responsibilities as Consul General of Canada in New York in March 2011. Prior he worked as a Managing Director in the Equity Capital Markets (ECM) group at TD Securities, the investment banking division of The TD Bank Financial Group. As a member of the ECM group since 1998, he was also responsible for senior client coverage of a wide variety of leading Canadian companies. From 1996 to 1998, Mr. Prato worked in merchant banking with TD Capital Group Ltd. with a variety of mandates, including private equity, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buy-outs and early-stage investing. Mr. Prato has served on the Board of Trustees of the Royal Ontario Museum, and on the Executive Committee of that Board. He currently sits on the boards of the St. Michael's Hospital Foundation, the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research and CommunityLend Inc.
The Global Diplomacy Series offers YPFP members the opportunity to engage with the most distinguished diplomatic representatives in New York, including diplomats from permanent missions, consulates, and embassies. Discussions will typically be off-the-record, open to a limited number of attendees, and take place at the relevant embassy, residence, or cultural office.
