YPFP London: Voice of the Youth on the G8 Summit

June 12, 2013 06:30 pm

Location

Committee Room 5
House of Commons
London

When the G8 fails, it often fails young people the most.

In association with the UK G8 in 2013, London will host the Youth8 Summit in late June. The Youth8 Summit will bring together around 200 young leaders from around the world to negotiate and come to a consensus on constructive solutions to real G8 issues.

Ahead of the this historic event, YPFP are hosting a dicussion to provide an opportunity for debate and dialogue on the issues of both Summits. Each of the major youth groups for UK political parties are represented alongside the UK Youth8 delegation to question what the G8 can do for young people.

The Summits are being hosted against a context of youth unemployment across both developed and emerging economies. Over the long term, across the breadth of G8 agenda, from security to development and environmental protection, the youth of the world will inherit the legacy of policy decision made today.

Please join the discussion and Q&A, chaired by YPFP, with speakers: Nick Maxwell, Youth8 UK Prime Minister and host of the Youth8 Summit; Katherine Klebba, Young Fabians International Officer; Conor McKenzie, International Officer at Liberal Youth; and Jonathan Algar, Bright Blue.

This event is open to everyone.
